Ayurveda Skin Care According to Skin Type

Ayurveda skin care focuses on treating skin issues based on person’s Dosha or skin type. A Dosha is a point of energy that makes up the mind and the body. There are three types of Dosha: Vatta, Pitta, and Kapha.

Vatta refers to the skin type which is very dry and not moisturized properly. Treatment of dry skin in Ayurveda is done by consuming ginger and using Ayurveda beauty products such as oil-based moisturizers on the skin or applying ashwagandha, a popular herb in Ayurveda, on the face.

Pitta refers to the skin type which is very oily that causes acne. Treatment of oily skin in Ayurveda requires the use of Ayurveda beauty products that comprise aloe vera, turmeric, and sandalwood. These are anti-inflammatory which significantly reduces inflammation and acne.

Kapha refers to the skin type that is cold and oily, which leads to blackheads and whiteheads.

Treatment of cold and oily skin in Ayurveda requires the use of Ayurveda beauty products that comprise almond powder which exfoliates and moisturizes the skin.
